What does this cost?

Disk Imaging:  If the disk is sent to our office, we will create a forensic copy of a disk and perform a standard battery of reports for a fixed fee of $1,000.  If on-site imaging is requested, then pricing is based on our standard hourly rates.

Forensic Examinations:  Examinations focus on finding and recovering specific items of interest to a client.  Usually this involves one or more hard drives and hours vary based on the complexity and scope of the request. Less complex examinations may take between 5-10 hours per hard drive whereas more complex may take 20-35 hours per drive.  Factors are dependant upon the type of operating system, data contained on the media, password protection, hardware problems and specific content targeted by the client.

Examination of floppy diskettes, memory cards or other removable media could result in a lower number of hours required since the size of such media is often much smaller than average computer hard drives. The fee is based upon the quoted hourly rate which typically ranges from $125-$275.  This hourly rate depends on a variety of issues with regards to complexity and scope of the investigation.
